Mike,

In the track list shown in your latest blog post (Spring Tracking), I noticed that "Focus" is listed as "Focus, Pt. 1".  I have a recording of an old demo of the song that was also labeled "Part 1".  I always wondered whether is was a part of the title or just some notation.  This new blog post seems to confirm that it is part of the title.  Can you shed some light on what it means?

And I'll thank you again for not using the title "I'm On My Way".  "Focus" is so much better.   The opening riff of this song has been my ringtone for years!

Thanks!

Thanks, Hodge.

There is a part 2 to the song, I just never play it.

"Focus, Pt. 1" will most likely be the title that appears on the record.

Yes, the record is on hold for a bit.

There will be a different record that's all-acoustic, mostly mandolin based released early next year.  The song "Jenny," featured on Live at the Evening Muse has been recorded for that record, as well as 10 completely new songs, all written this past summer in the Smoky Mountains.

The Return of Spring is suffering from too many options, too many songs, and a lack of clear vision.  I endeavor to finish it next summer.

Thanks for asking!  A delay here isn't a bad thing at all, from my viewpoint.  It's just taking a little more time than I anticipated.

Good news:  new music is coming

Bad news:  it's not The Return of Spring
